The Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (CIE) is thrilled to announce our Entrepreneurship 101 Workshop Series . In this series, you will gain practical knowledge and skills essential for start-up.

We were delighted to have Mr Lawrence Fong, the Founder of Honeycomb Corporate Community Ltd to be the instructor for the first workshop titled Practical Skills of Starting a Business. During this workshop, Lawrence shared his valuable experience on company registration, online platform development, intellectual property, and other practical issues. Below were the details of the workshop:

Do you wish to learn more about financial plan and fundraising for starting your business? We were delighted to have Mr Alex So, Group Managing Partner of FastLane Group to share his perspectives on accounting knowledge, financial supports, risk assessment and mitigation on 27 Feb 2024.

Trainer’s Profile:

Mr Alex So (蘇德掦先生), Managing Partner of FastLane Group, is responsible for the strategic development of FastLane Group. He is a fellow member of CPA Australia and has over 20 years of professional finance and accounting, corporate finance, and investment experience in financial services and asset management companies. Alex held regional Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operations Officer roles in a number of global financial institutions including Deutsche Bank, Bank of America, a Hong Kong-listed company, and an Asian private equity firm. He is an investor for early-stage and high-growth companies.

CIE is thrilled to report that the third Workshop of our Entrepreneurship 101 Workshop Series with a focus on brand building strategy was a remarkable achievement!

We were delighted to have Mr Neil Shih, Co-founder of define CLEAN and an HSUHK alumnus, as the instructor for this workshop. Mr Shih shared his valuable experience during the early stage of starting a business, brand building, and social media marketing strategies.

But the highlight of the event was definitely the fun-filled DIY session where participants had the opportunity to make their own environmentally friendly cleansing product!

Biography of Mr Neil Shih

• define CLEAN Co-founder ( A green technology start up under HKSTP Incubation)
• Bachelor of Business Administration (Honours) in Supply Chain Management 2016 Graduate
• Since product was launched in April 2022, 18 products have been launched and 9 retail points, 4 online sales platforms and 5 corporate customers have been established, including but not limited to the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, the Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups and Kerry Properties.
• As our product is wholly new concept in the market, the innovation attracts more than 30 media interviews in the past year, including but not limited to TVB, Ming Pao, Hong Kong Economic Times, Radio Television Hong Kong and Hong Kong Commercial Radio, etc.
• Received more than HK$2 million in prize money from different technology, environmental sustainability and social enterprise incubators and competitions, including but not limited to Hong Kong Science Park Incubation Program (Technology), Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups 2022, Social Innovation Fund and Qianhai Guangdong, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Youth Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition, etc.
