We're buzzing with excitement to bring you the highlights from the HK Techathon+ 2026 Mixer Programme, which lit up HSUHK on 22 October 2025!
A fantastic crowd of our brightest young talents turned out, ready to soak up practical, no-nonsense branding and competition strategies that every start-up founder needs in their toolkit.
We were absolutely delighted to welcome Mr Neil Shih, Co-founder of define CLEAN, as our guest speaker. In his brilliant session "Brand Building from Zero", Neil took us behind the scenes of define CLEAN's remarkable journey – proving you don't need big budgets to create a big impact. He shared priceless real-world tips (and the traps to avoid!) on early-stage branding, plus strategies on pitching business ideas that shine in competitions like HK Techathon+.
As a pioneering green-tech start-up, define CLEAN is rewriting the rules of sustainable cleaning. Their innovative powder-based products simply mix with tap water, hello planet-friendly sparkle! With over 200,000 units already sold, they're showing the society that doing good and doing well can go hand in hand.
Huge thanks also go to Ms Grace Lai, Senior Manager of University Collaborations at HKSTP, for kicking things off with an inspiring overview of the HK Techathon+ initiative, and to our wonderful co-organisers – the PI Centre, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, and Lingnan University – for making it all happen.
Moments like these are what fuel our HSUHK spirit of innovation and creativity. Let's keep the energy high, the ideas flowing, and turn more brilliant concepts into reality together!
