WHAT IS CO-IDEATION PROGRAMME?
The HSUHK x HKSTP Co-Ideation Programme is an entrepreneurship supporting programme jointly organised by the Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation (HKSTP) and The Hang Seng University of Hong Kong (HSUHK), aiming at supporting aspiring entrepreneurs to kickstart their entrepreneurial journey.
This is a one-year programme for early-stage start-ups with technological elements. During this one-year programme, you will have exclusive access to:
- Seed fund up to HK$100,000
- Training and consultation
- Mentorship and coaching
- Co-working space
- Business and technical support
In addition to the above, the shortlisted teams of the Co-Ideation Programme will be eligible for direct admission into CIE’s Pre-Incubation Programme, which will provide you with additional mentorship support, workshops and networking opportunities.

ELIGIBILITY
- The team leader/person-in-charge must be a current undergraduate or postgraduate student of HSUHK, an HSUHK employee, OR an HSUHK/HSMC/HSSC Alumnus AND
- Hong Kong Identity Card (HKID) holder aged 18 and above AND
- Participants can join this programme as individuals, teams or companies.
- For team or company-based participation, it must have been incorporated as a limited company for less than 2 years by the application submission date.
- Please note that if you (and any of your team members) are currently joining or any funding pre-incubation programmes or incubation programmes or have shareholding in the start-ups involved in these programmes, including but not limited to HKSTP Ideation, HKSTP Incubation, Cyberport CCMF/CUPP, Cyberport Incubation may not be eligible to join the Co-Incubation Programme.
APPLICATION
Applicants must complete the Application Form with a submission of a business concept statement (in pdf format) and a zoom video recording (within 5 mins). The application deadline is 23 October 2024 (Wednesday) at noon. Late submission will only be considered on a discretionary basis.
Requirements of the Business Concept Statement:
- Cover page – Team Name / Project Title / Mission & Vision / Objectives / Core team member(s) – Brief description of their academic and business backgrounds
- Maximum number of pages: 5 (including cover page, appendices, diagrams and tables)
- Language: English
- Size of Paper: A4
- Font Size: 12

- File Format: PDF
Indicative coverage:
– Introduction to the project (identified problem, market opportunity or market gap; description of the business concept and product/service)
– Business model (including target market and revenue & expenses streams)
– Description of the technological and innovative element(s)
– Description of the founding team member(s’) competency
– Project schedule
– Other information (stakeholders, partners, awards, IP etc.)
The Zoom video It should be in the form of a pitching video with the following requirements:
- Content:
- Present clearly a concise overview of your project within 5 minutes with no more than 15 slides covering the key information as specified in the business concept statement.
- Language: Cantonese / English / Putonghua.

- Record the video via the recording function in Zoom.
- Keep your camera on and ensure the voice and the slides are clearly presented.

APPLICATION TIMELINE
The deadline for application: 23 October 2024 (Wed) 12:00 at noon.
Panel Assessment: The assessment will be arranged in November 2024 and the details will be announced in due course.

RULES AND REGULATIONS
- Each applicant is eligible to join one team only.
- Each individual/team applicant must assign a team leader (person-in-charge) who is HSUHK current student or colleague or alumni. The team leader also serves as the team’s contact person and financial representative. He/she is responsible for ensuring the team submits all necessary documents/information as requested by CIE or HKSTP, on or before the stated deadlines throughout the programme.
- Plagiarism is NOT allowed. The business concept statement submitted must not contain any unauthorised use of copyrighted or proprietary materials of any person or entity or content violating the law of HKSAR. Any form of plagiarism will result in an automatic disqualification. The use of thoughts or work of another source must be properly referenced.
- The development of product(s) and/or service(s) will not infringe the rights or intellectual property rights of any other parties (whether registered or not), including but not limited to patent rights, trademark rights, and copyrights.
- By submitting the application to CIE, the individual or the team have to agree that the information submitted would be shared with HSUHK, CIE and/or HKSTP for administrative purposes.
- All participants are required to abide by the rules and regulations of CIE and HKSTP. CIE or HKSTP retains the right to determine the team’s qualification to participate in the programme.
- Individual based must be incorporated as a limited company in Hong Kong before the assessment submission of 2nd milestone.
- If the team has any changes in a team leader or members, please inform CIE by email cie@hsu.edu.hk
- The provision of financial support and co-working space access is subject to the final decision of HKSTP.
- HKSTP and CIE reserve the right to modify the programme context at any time.
- HKSTP and CIE reserve the right to reject any application submitted for the programme and the right to interpret, amend, and supplement the terms and conditions in the guidelines.
